  1. Well first off the Exxon Valdez happened about 20 years ago. But they are both spilling a lot of oil each day. The differences are that the Exxon was in Alaska but the BP was in the gulf of Mexico. This is going to effect us because the price of gas and sea foods are going to go up.

  3. This is a tragic event that really hurt are enviroment and the living things that
have to live in the enviroment that the oil spills took place. Compare and contrast the BP oil spill with the Exxon spill? 5/26/10

Things they have in common. They were both very bad things that happened to the ocean. They were both accidents when they happen. They both killed many living thing like fish and birds. They both dropped oil into the ocean.

Exxon spill happened in Alaska. Exxon dropped 250,000 barrels into the ocean. No one died with the Exxobn spill. It was a very big spill and caused a lot of damge in the ocean.

BP spill happen in the Gulf Of Mexico. BP dropped 165,000-2.4 million barrels into the ocean. Eleven people died in the BP spill. It was a big tragic that happen to the gulf of Mexico.

  4. This essay is going to be about the Oil spills around the world. I would like to start by saying to the fallen ones “thank you.” I would think that people wouldn’t think about the gas prices when that kind of stuff was going on in the world. That is what my essay is going to be about.

    OIL SPILL
The Exxon spill and the BP spill have in common. They both were spilled into the ocean. They were both very detrimental to the ocean. They were both accidents to the spill. Also, I would like to say that it is very horrible that the oil spill has happened. So I would love to help clean the oil up and what I hear they are making money by doing so.

    EXXON SPILL
The Exxon spill happened in Alaska. It was detrimental to the Prince William Sound, Ocean. I am also, worried about the animal life in the ocean. The Oil spill spilled 250,000 barrels into the ocean. No one was harmed during the oil spill thank the lord. I would like to say thank you to the people that are helping clean the oil spill up.

    BP SPILL
The Bp spill happened in the Gulf of Mexico. I am worried about the marine life in the gulf. It really sucks that 11 people have passed because of the oil spill, but I will pray for them tonight in my prayers. I think that people need to help clean the oil up and not worry about the gas prices. That is what I think about the oil spill.

    Sincerely, Jonathan C

  5. The oil spill was a really bad thing and people are afraid that the gas prices are going to go up because of the loss of the supplies. Also the families are going to be running out of money and maybe not being able to pay their bills because of this accident and the increase of gasoline prices.

The BP oil spill killed 11 platform workers and 17 other people. Also the BP won’t let the scientist see how much oil was really spilled in the ocean. This was the biggest spill in U.S history so I think this is a major problem for the people that live down there. Also they think there is about 100,000 barrels being spilled every day so that is a lot of oil just to be getting wasted.

The Alaska spill is also a really bad thing. I think people who are carrying all this oil should be careful of their surroundings so they don’t hit anything and get great big spills like this anymore. Also the spills are killing a lot of things in the oceans and now we are going to be cut down on sea food and other stuff they make out of the ocean for a little while. I hope they get this fixed soon fish and other animals stop dying.

Compare and contrasting of the BP and the Alaska oil spills and what they have in common. They are both spills in the oceans and they are both killing fish and other ocean animals. Also they both are really bad things that happened in the ocean.

The families are going to be running out of money and maybe not being able to pay their bills because of this accident and the increase of gasoline prices. The oil spill was a really bad thing and people are afraid that the gas prices are going to go up because of the loss of the supply of the oil and gasoline.

Compare & Contrast the BP oil spill and the Exxon Valdez? Both oil spills are a wide spread oil slick that was or expelled at least 15 million gallons of oil combined. Also both oil spills were accidental and spread at least to 20,100 square miles combined. Also, they are both the biggest oil spill in the U.S. Both have major clean up costs associated with the spill and the deaths it caused.

The Deepwater Horizon or BP oil spill killed 11 platform workers and injured 17 others. Also, this spill of oil expelled about 4.2 million gallons of oil into the gulf of mexico. This oil spill is also known as the Macondo blowout. This oil spill was one of the worst in U.S. history which ocurred on April 20, 2010 which was 1,500 m below sea level. The government has named this disaster as the largest in U.S. history also surpassing the exxon valdez spill.

The Exxon Valdez oil spill was caused by a ground running of the oil tanker and caused 10.8 million gallons of oil to spill in the Princeton William’s Sound Bligh Reef. The type of oil that spilled was crude oil from the big ocean tanker that carried about 10.8 million U.S. gallons. This oil spill was also one of the most devastating human-caused disaster in history. This disaster ocurred in Alaska on March 24, 1989. The Shipmaster in charge was Joseph Jeffrey Hazelwood who left it in the hands of Third mate Gregory Cousins.

  7. The BP oil spill is the worst spill ever. It was caused by a oil well blow out on April 10,2010. The explotion killed 11 platform workers and injured 17. The gusher originates from a deepwater oil well 5,000 feet below the ocean surface. The Deepwater Horizon oil spill, also called the BP Oil Spill, the Gulf of Mexico oil spill or the Macondo blowout , is a massive ongoing oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and the worst oil spill in US history.
The Exxon Valdez oil spill occurred in Prince William Sound, Alaska on March 24, 1989. It spilled an estimated minimum 10.8 million US gallons of crude oil. It is considered to be one of the most devastating human-caused environmental disasters ever to occur in history. They both were in the ocean when they happened.

Exxon Valdez and BP oil spill…

The Exxon oil spill-happened at Alaska on March 29, 1989. The cause of the tragety was because when the tanker reached ground it started to tip the Exxon. The accident caused 10.8 mllion gallon of crude oil to spill in the ocean.

The BP Oil Spill- happened because of a well head blowout. This happened on April 20, 2010. See… What happened was the blowout caused a big explosion on the deep water horizon off shore of the oil drilling platform.

  9. On April 10, 2010 an oil derrick exploded in the Gulf of Mexico. The explosion took the lives of 11 crew members and injured 17 more. It is the biggest oil spill our country has ever seen. The oil well which is located 5,000 feet below sea level is releasing somewhere between 5000 to 100000 barrels of crude oil into the gulf a day. The BP officials have just now managed to stop the leak however they cannot be entirely sure of their success at this time.
Another notable spill is the Exxon Valdez spill. On March 24, 1989 an oil tanker bound for Californian hit a reef outside of Prince Williams Sound, Alaska. The wreck was caused by a drunken caption that was unfit to man the controls. Lucky no human lives were lost. However 10.8 million barrels of oil was dumped into the water causing many native fish populations to suffer devastating losses.

  10. I don`t think that thwe oil spills will affect me so I could reaaly care less. In some ways I do care because the oil is polluting the oceans and killing the animals in the ocean. Other than that I don`t really see the point in it. I think this because I have nothing to do with this and I can`t stop it so really I not control. This is what I think.
