Junkfood
ReplyDeleteAnything that feels good can become an addiction. Here’s how it works:
1. A person doesn’t feel very good a lot of the time (often a result of the pressures of modern life)
2. A person partakes of something that makes him or her feel good (like World of Warcraft, junk food, booze, alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, etc.)
3. After partaking of the good-feeling thing, the person eventually goes back to feeling bad most of the time. Return to step 2.
You don’t need a study to tell you that. The root of the problem is that a lot of people these days are really unhappy, or feel spiritually empty, or what have you. Maybe we should try to fix that part instead.
There’s an interesting post over at the Health Journal Club that makes the case that people should just not eat anything that wasn’t a food 100 years ago. Gets rid of the aspartame, bleached GM flour, high fructose corn syrup garbage they try to pass off as food these days.
I can't believe CNN is trying to say that a food made of 50% fat and 50% sugar (frosting) causes problems because of the fat. It's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard from the nutrition world.
"Low Fat" foods are such a marketing gimmick. People assume any kind of fat is bad, and think that if they avoid eating it they're eating healthy. However we NEED fat in our diets. What we don't need is refined sugar or grains, which causes the insulin spike which results in these "addictive" aspects that CNN is trying to ascribe to fat.
Yes, I said it; we don't need those "whole grains" that everyone says we do. They're just high carb, high calorie food with insoluble fiber. You can get the fiber from leafy greens, which are low carb and low calorie plus have so many other vital nutrients your body needs. Besides, almost all the "healthy all natural hippie bread" you get in the store has added sugar which is completely unnecessary, and it's usually the 4th ingredient.

What causes Obesity
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to avoid all junk food all of the time though if you don't want to do so. The food pyramid even allows for some discretionary calories that we can all use to eat some "luxury foods," including those with fat or added sugar.
Keep in mind that most people's allowance of discretionary calories is very small, about 130 calories for a 5 year old and 290 calories for a 10 year old. People often overdo it -- getting too many calories each day. The key to eating these junk foods is moderation. So only let your kids eat them occasionally. And when you do, get them small portions (small fries or kiddie-sized milk shake, for example).
Outragious Junk Food
Swisscake Surprise, Bacon Bouquet, The Bacon Mug, The Bacon-copia
People who suffer from obesity usually have heart related risks, & shortness of breath. They can have trouble with their arteries as well. Over eating causes obesity. If you eat bacon, deep fried oreos, or a lot of fatty meats/pastas, then you are at risk of becoming obese. To help solve this problem, people need to be educated on the problems associated with obesity.

Today’s people about junk food. Today’s kids are crazy about junk food because they get upset and eat out at like Mc Donalds. Also, people love to eat pie and try to eat the most. Bacon on the brain is very bad and has a lot of fat on the bacon because it is fatty. That is what junk food can do and can cause.

ReplyDeleteOne big problem that causes obesity is a lack of energy and being lazy. Eating stuff that is greasy is most of that time an addiction and people make it an addictio by eating so much. Another problem I think America has is all these machines that work America because people are so goddang lazy!!!
If America didn't have all these fast food places that people get addicted to going to then maybe America wouldm't be full of overweight people. I also think that America needs to hand out more labor like jobs that you actually use your hands with maybe people wouldn't be like the way it is now.
Obesity is a major problem in America. It causes a number of different health problems. Like high blood pressure, cholesterol, clogged arteries, and diabetes. Diabetes is a lifelong disease that can cost up to 700 dollars a year to treat. It is important to watch what you eat and exercise
