  1. Civic Participation – Government Decisions….And Us
    By: Derrick Brown
Many of us complain about the economic and government failures that occur on a weekly basis. Little do we know, we are a part of the problem. The majority of Americans sit and complain about the malfunction of our government without taking action and accepting responsibility. Only a fraction of registered voters in the US actually vote. People want to complain about the problems the government create, but are unwilling to take action in creating a solution.
I chose my topic, Civic Participation, because I recognize this and want to make a change in our country. More specifically, I am doing my project on the decisions made by government officials. I want them to realize that the decisions being made by our representatives are not going to make everyone happy. If we do not like the decisions being made by a government official, the logical thing to do would be to vote for a new one. I would not want someone to represent me, if I do not agree with them.
Another goal for my game is to help people be more mindful of their decisions. If we think before we act, we will, have the best outcome. We will not have to suffer from our consequences. I do not want people to apply this to just the government. I want people to see the consequences and positives of our daily choices. People who are uneducated usually live in poverty and struggle to sustain a happy life. If people made the good decision of attending school, their chances of making it out of poverty would increase. That is what I mean by ‘Thinking About Our Daily Choices’.
In government, politicians are always trying to sway people into their way of thinking. Different groups, such as Liberals, Democrats, Republicans, and Independents, have different views on what the government should be doing. What I ask myself before making a decision is, “How many people is this going to benefit?” That seems to make the process easier. A lot of citizens make decisions based on greed and disregard for others. They live for profit. I hope to encourage people to make the right decision, based not just on what that individual thinks, but what other people think as well.
In conclusion, I feel that this game will help people in their daily lives. People who learn something from this game will hopefully see the weight their decisions hold. I have learned a lot from researching this project. I pray that people will vote and learn to take action in their government. I also want people to learn more about the government from playing this game. This topic is important for people to learn. Maybe it will change the way people think.

  2. Why did all the black sox’s get banned instead of the ones who really cheated?

The 1919 Black Sox scandal is probably the most famous example of athletes throwing a contest of all time. The 1919 World Series pitted the heavily favored Chicago White Sox against the Cincinnati Reds. Rumors of the series being fixes even before things got underway which caused a bunch of money to come in betting for the Reds. The rumors were true and eight members of the White Sox conspired to throw the World Series led by first baseman Gandil. All eight players were eventually banned for life which had the effect of making Shoeless Joe Jackson one of the greatest players in baseball history restricted from the Hall of Fame forever.
Somewhat surprising fact The players were motivated to throw the series in part because they disliked the Black Sox owner Charles a mega cheap son of bitch who made their players pay for their own laundry causing dirty uniforms and the nickname of Black Sox which existed well before the throwing of the World Series. So the next time you feel compelled to complain about escalating athlete salaries remember that they are helping to ensure games are fair and on the level since there’s no negative motivation to take a fall.
The first baseman told Shoeless Joe Jackson that he and his teammates were willing to throw the 1919 World Series for $100,000. After that Joe tried to tell people, but they never listen to him. Soon after the three met with outfielder Happy Felsch, infielders Swede Risberg and Buck Weaver then infielder Fred McMullin, and Jackson. Jackson said that when Gandil offered him $10,000 to help throw the series he told Gandil no and turned it down. Then after that Gandil offered him $20,000 and Joe told him turned him down again.
Shoeless Joe and another person on the team would not take the money they were offered, but if I was them I would of took the money because they know they were all going to get caught at one time. Joe did the right thing by going and telling the coach that he wasn’t in it, but the coach never listened to him. If I was Shoeless Joe I would of played sick that day and not even played in the game and he would be in the Hall Of Fame now today and would not of been called a cheater.
I thought it was all a joke when I heard about it, but when I saw it I couldn’t believe it I never thought a couple of players would throw a world series for $10,000. I think they would have got paid more than that just winning the World Series and some of them were going to get elected into the Hall Of Fame. If I was one of them I would think man I made a dumb mistake. Just think of all the people who were pissed off at them and what would you do after you were called a cheater. If I was one of them I would probably try to hide out for a couple of years or move out of town to somewhere else that didn’t know about the game.

  3. Toyota Pries recall

Toyota Pries recall the gas pedals is getting stuck to the floor for some reason and they can’t figure it out. So what is going on? We don’t have a clue just yet. What if your car is on the list? Well no idea just yet waits will something happens? What happens if it doesn’t get fixed well I would make the prediction that a lot of people are going to make a chunk of change.
On February 8, 2010 Toyota motor vehicles issued that there would be a voluntary safety recall on all Toyota pries vehicles. There was a total of 133,000 up to date abs software so “I guess didn’t work”. 250 owners have reported that they were experiencing issues with the cars. It was slow and steady application on brakes on rough or slick roads in which if its slick you might just slide around a little. So the gas the pedals are getting stuck to the floor. Nothing we can fix just yet.
If the gas pedal is really stuck common sense just says to shift it into neutral and turn the car off. But people don’t know what to do when it comes to that they have panic attacks and just get scared. If you feel the brakes feeling sticky pull over immediately and call Toyota and have them come and get your car right then and there. If your not having problems yet……………………………….. not finished<<<<---

Tracey McGrady is an okay player, but don’t get it twisted though, but he gets paid 23,329,561. Those are the top 10 most paid players in the NBA for 2010.

  5. Politics of the Civil War
The Civil War was the bloodiest conflict in American history claiming the lives of over 600,000 citizens and causing destruction, dismay and civic unrest. But how many people know the true cause of the war? What were the political arguments and mindsets that caused such a catastrophe?
Many people believe that slavery was the cause of the war. However that is not entirely true slavery was the cause of the succession but not the cause of the war. The wars itself was a matter of sovereignty or states’ rights one of which being whether or not states had the right to withdraw from the United States.
The north viewed the succession as an act of treason. The north’s argument was based on *article VI of the constitution. This states that the federal government holds power over the independent states. Furthermore *article I of the same constitution states that, states cannot enter in to treaties, coin money, raise armies, and perform a number of other tasks that the federal government has the freedom to do.

So what reasons would cause the south to go against the constitution and break off from the United States? Well, after the election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860 South Carolina and several other Deep South feared that Lincoln would remove their right to own slaves. So the southern states declared their secession on the grounds that:
    - The northern states were uncooperative with the fugitive slave clause of the U.S. Constitution,
    - The U.S. government had no right to restrict property rights (and, by that, the South meant slave-owner rights) in the new territories, and
    - The growing power of the North in the U.S. government imperiled the interests of the South.
Whether or not there reasons where just is not for me to say.
In the end the north was victorious. After 4 years of fighting a battalion of union solders lead by General Grant captured southern general Lee forcing him to surrender on April 7 1865. By this time over 600,000 American had lost their lives and their homes. It was a tragedy of grand proportions.

  7. There are more Americans who face the threat of blindness from age related eye diseases. A person can have 20/20 vision eyesight, and yet have a visual problem which does not allow them to get meaning and understanding from what is seen. People who are visually impaired do not see well enough to perform everyday tasks, even with the aid of glasses, contact lenses, medicines or surgery. Blindness, the most severe form of visual impairment, deprives people the ability to move about unaided. Most forms of visual impairment and blindness can be avoided or can be readily treated or cured with well known and inexpensive measures. Blindness is relatively uncommon only 1.3 million Americans are legally blind. Those who have visual impairment there are 21 million.
Blind People aren’t from a separate planet, they come from the general society, from all races, religions and socioeconomic groups. In fact, most of us grew up sighted. Most of us come from families who never had a blind member before. That means that creating a society which has a positive attitude and a can-do approach to blindness is the best way to prepare the not-yet-blind to have successful, independent and happy lives. Our eyes are very complex organs we have to take care of them or they will get damaged.

The top 5 paid teams are the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, and the Orlando Magic. The Lakers are an okay team, but they get paid 93,377,313. The Celtics are one of my favored teams than others, but they get paid 85, 214,270. The Orlando Magic gets paid 80,532,126. The bulls and suns are my favorite NBA teams though. Those are the top 5 most paid NBA teams.
A salary cap is the limit allowed by the NBA to pay the B-Ball teams. The Chicago Bulls salary cap is $69,465,535. There salary cap isn’t as much as other teams. A collective bargain in the NBA is like highest offer, rules, hours, and working conditions. The Ticket sales for an NBA game it all depends on what team you want to go see play. That is my essay on Basketball.

  9. Caribbean Islands
One of the most beautiful strings of tropical islands in the world, the Caribbean is a place of wonder, culture, and heritage that runs as deep as the roots of the palm trees. From the hottest tourist attractions by the white and warm sandy beaches of The Bahamas’, to the culture you can see in everything you look at in Jamaica. These islands and the ones surrounding them are rich in traditions that are unique and individual. Though many things are known about these islands, all of their mysteries and secrets will never be uncovered, that is what makes them exotic and breathtaking.
The Caribbean lifestyle is undoubtedly a product of its tropical setting. The music, architecture, attitudes and customs have all, in some way, been shaped by the physical landscape and climate. The cultures of the Caribbean countries are a blend of colonial mainstays and pervasive influences by major ethnic groups of the region such as East Indians and Africans.
It is safe to say, that the Caribbean is a multicultural and majestic place. Barbados, a former British colony, has enough British traditions to be called "Little England." Jamaica retains few of the colonial customs, relies on pre-colonial heritage and is self-sufficient. Jamaica also boasts a successful democracy and maintains a peaceful existence in the Caribbean. Aruba, once a Dutch possession, only has a little bit of Dutch influence today. Puerto Rico is the most modern island in the Caribbean. Spanish and American influences are apparent throughout this island abounding with high-rises and traffic.
Although the Caribbean is a beautiful and welcoming place, not all is well in the south. They are facing many problems, such as Cruise ship Pollution. Caribbean Cruise Ships dump up to 143,000 gallons of sewage into the ocean every day. This is a major problem in the south, because the waste affects the wildlife on land that drink the water, or prey on animals that live in the water. The people of the Caribbean are also affected. They may become very sick due to the pollution and deaths will affect population. It’s also very unsanitary to the world and creates very nasty environments for sea life to live in.
So, from the family beaches of The Bahamas’ to the late night hot spots in Barbados, the Caribbean is one of the world top destination spots. The culture is rich, the beaches are warm, the locals are friendly, and the waves are acallin! You know you want to, so get online today and book your stay at one of the finest islands god created!

  10. Behind the Blind
    By : Chasity M

There are more Americans who face the threat of blindness from age related eye diseases. A person can have 20/20 vision eyesight, and yet have a visual problem which does not allow them to get meaning and understanding from what is seen. People who are visually impaired do not see well enough to perform everyday tasks, even with the aid of glasses, contact lenses, medicines or surgery. Blindness, the most severe form of visual impairment, deprives people the ability to move about unaided. Most forms of visual impairment and blindness can be avoided or can be readily treated or cured with well known and inexpensive measures. Blind People aren’t from a separate planet, they come from the general society, from all races, religions and socialeconomic groups.
Every minute in the world a child goes blind, did you know that? It’s estimated that at least 7 million people go blind every year. Somewhere in the world, someone goes blind every five seconds. People come to think that being blind is such a bad thing, but come to think of it, it could happen to you. Eighty percent of all blindness is preventable or curable. People in developiong countries represent 90 percent of the world’s blind population and are 10 times more likely to go blind then those in developed countries.
Thousands of people in this country become blind every year. It need not be a tragedy, but it can be. Being informed about blindness can make the difference. By exploring you can gain an understanding and acceptance of blindness and the possiblities that await you or someone you know. It’s not all that scary as long as you know how to take care of yourself.
Fear of blindness now that technology and the promise of the American dream are catapulting blind people into professions like law, engineering, and chemistry, is unfounded and hurts the entire society. Be brave; try thinking of others because everyone is equal. Ultimately face it, because were all just as unique as the other, we all have difficulties, and we all have to live with them.

  11. Linsey Fought
    Fashion
    February 15, 2010

The wonderful world of fashion, how has it changes throughout the years. I am going to share about the 1960 to present day fashion. In addition, I will see how fashion has changed with the increase in money throughout the years.
In the 1960’s everything seemed to go the mini, micro-mini, and maxi. Eyes were lined with black, shadowed with frosty white and topped off with a white set of fake eyelashes. Lips were painted light to white! The top model of the 60’s was TWIGGY. Twiggy was born Lesley Hornby on September 19, 1949. She is an English model, actress, and singer. At 16 she became the first prominent teenage model. The 1960’s was a time of violence, protest, and rebellion. Dramatic events took place during this decade and dramatic changes in fashion occurred.
The Hippie Era in the 1960-1970’s. The hippie subculture was originally a youth movement that began in the United States. Then in January, there was a Human Be In- in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, California. This lead to a popular hippie culture and the Sumer of Love on the West Coast of the United States.
The 1970’s when the then women wore clogs and platforms and the men wore leather. During this era long hair was a big thing. It was first seen as a sign as teens rebelling but then later was an acceptable fashion. Another thing that was big was sideburns, beards, and moustaches. These were popular for teenagers and their parents both.
In the 1980’s fashion focused on many music stars style. The oversized sweatshirt, shirt, and sweater were in. Some were huge over the shoulder, bust line, and waist and narrowed in the thighs. Some tops were long and belted. Personally I love the 80’s fashion it is my favorite.
Then there was the 1990’s and it was kind of the like 1960’s. Platforms and bellbottoms were back and skits of all lengths were in. Also in the 1990 was a time for the cell phones. Some popular bands in the 90’s were The Spice Girls, The Backstreet Boys, and TLC.
Then came 2000 which I am most familiar with. There were two very different kinds of fashion in the 2000’s there was the “runway” and the “street wear.” The runway was a more retro look mixing hits of the past and different styles for today. In this decade no one was really sure what was going to happen when it came to fashion. When it came to the street wear it was totally different. Trucker hats, screen tees, and Ugg boots were the hot thing not to mention girls with tattoos on their lower backs.
Last but least present day fashion and this is my favorite. In the fashion world these day just about ANYTHING goes, and I mean anything. Celebrities love designers like Gucci, Louis Vuittion, Dolce & Gabbana, and Christian Dior. You many celebrities today also layering there clothes. I think this style is great and I love it.

  12. Impressionism in Art History
    Ivalee Keen
    02-11-10

Impressionism was one of the many movements in French history that moved more than the people. I have come to believe it is one form of art that many others came to form. The topic I chose to do for my CSOs is Impressionism in history and how it affected modern day and people. The human eye is a marvelous instrument and it sees what it wants to see whether it’s a glorious painting made of dots or a simple water color. The term Impressionism is used to indicate a concern for cotemporary subject matter and a technique or organization that gives the impression of casualness.

The beginning of modern art in history was impressionism. Claude Monet, who exhibited a picture called “Impression: Sunrise” was the beginning of impressionism as well. Outraged critics took the word impressionism from Monet’s title and used it as a label when referring to bad art. Impressionism is described as an art style that tried to capture an impression of what the eye sees at a given moment and the effect of sunlight on the subject. Some of the major influences are Japanese prints because they had so much color, and Photography. The camera opened artist eyes to the possibilities of candid, or unposed, views of people. Snapshots showed familiar subjects from new and unusual points of view.

Some major artist from the impressionist time was Auguste Rodin, Edgar Degas, Gustave Caillebotte, and many more. Born to modest means on November 12, 1840, Francois-Auguste-Rene Rodin was the second child of Jean-Baptiste Rodin and Marie Cheffer. He was somewhat shy and very nearsighted, which proved a hindrance in his early academic work. He took a serious interest in drawing and had his first drawing lesson when he was ten years old. He was a very inspired man and loved what he did. I’m sure it wasn’t easy.

Edgar Degas is my favorite Impressionist of his time. He used vivid colors and explained his work with great imagination. He was French artist, acknowledged as the master of drawing the human figure in motion. Degas worked in many mediums, preferring pastel to all others. He is perhaps best known for his paintings, drawings, and bronzes of ballerinas and of race horses.

With the last brush stroke, I would like to say that Impressionism had a huge impact in history and made people think twice. It was hard living back then and I know I appreciate everything it has formed art to be in this modern day.

  13. I help disabled people all the time I enjoy doing things like that. It’s not hard to help disabled people out with whatever they need help with. I hope all the other people like to help disabled people. I just like doing things like that because It’s a life lesson to learn trust me. That’s the first thing anyway.

The disabled people do have financing and they are able to carry a gun as well, they get discounts because of their disability. Some of them can even drive. If they have it made custom anyway.

There was a New Orleans disabled person to seek revenge at something. Despite all of the calls she sent to the police, but help never came to get her. If you ask me I think that’s pretty sad.

So that’s why we need to help disabled people out when they need it so please help them when you can it would be a big help. We also need to help them because they can’t live without health. So hopefully all of you can have enough commonsense to help these people that are disabled.

  14. A couple more STDs are syphilis and gonorrhea. Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease that is curable. It may be curable but you can always get it again. Symptoms include fever, sore throat, and weight and hair loss. Symptoms also include a rash of flat, red lesions over the whole body, and ulcers. Gonorrhea is also curable with cephalosporin or quinalone type of antibiotics. Symptoms in women include a painful or burning sensation when urinating, increased vaginal discharge, or vaginal bleeding between periods. Symptoms in men include a burning sensation when urinating, or a white, yellow, or green discharge from the penis. Sometimes men with gonorrhea get painful or swollen testicles.
There are so many types of STDs in the world. Another is Chlamydia; it can be treated and cured with antibiotics. Symptoms in women include an unusual discharge from your vagina, burning when you urinate, pain, bleeding, or discharge from your rectum if you have anal sex. Symptoms in men include a discharge from your penis, burning or itching around the opening of your penis when you urinate, pain, bleeding, or discharge from your rectum if you have receptive anal sex. HPV is another STD. HPV stands for Human Papilloma Virus. Most people who get HPV never know they have it. Most HPV infections cause no symptoms at all. There is no treatment for the virus itself. Over time, a healthy immune system can often clear the virus or at least suppress it. There are treatments, however, for genital warts and cervical cancer.
Last but definitely not least is Hepatitis. Symptoms Include: loss of appetite, fatigue, mild fever, muscle or joint aches, nausea vomiting, and abdominal pain. More symptoms include Dark urine, light-colored stools, jaundice or yellowing of skin and/or eyes, generalized itching, and/or an altered mental state, stupor or coma. Unlike some other STDs, Hepatitis is incurable it is one you have to live with if not die from. So, it comes to show that some STDs are curable while some aren’t. It’s your decision on how you want to live your life. Do you want your sex life to end because someone you had sex with was careless, or would you like to stay protected and be safe.
There are a couple ways to prevent from getting an STD. The only sure way to STDs is to not have sex, but if you do have sex; talk with your partner(s) beforehand about STDs. Work out a safety plan that feels comfortable to both of you. Use condoms every time. Male condoms can prevent most, but not all, skin-to-skin contact during sex. Female condoms cover more skin and may protect better than male condoms. Check your partner's genitals. Don't have sex if you see any unusual bumps. Have sex with fewer people. More partners equal more risk! Have sex with one partner who has sex with only you. If you wanted to get tested check your local phonebook and find the nearest clinic and if you already have an STD there are support groups to help you get through it. Be different-Keep yourself safe 

  15. Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Can you imagine living with a sexually transmitted disease? How do you think it would feel to know that somewhere along the line you didn’t protect yourself? There are so many diseases in the world that it’s hard to keep up with them all anymore. There are eight major diseases and a couple of them you can die from. For example, you can die from AIDS; it’s easily contracted, but so deadly. Sometimes it can take up to 6 months to a year for it to be found in your blood stream. There are more ways than just sexual activity that you can contract a sexually transmitted disease. Disease can be contracted from sex, sharing needles, or a blood transfusion. Sometimes you don’t think your partner can have anything because a lot of people have the “it won’t happen to me” attitude. If you have that attitude, you’re dead wrong. At least one in four Americans will contract a STD at one time in their life. There are over sixty-five million people currently living in the United States with a STD.
The most deadly STD is HIV/AIDS which stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. It starts out with having HIV, which is just a virus that then turns into AIDS and overtime will kill you. Sometimes symptoms may not show up for six months to a year. AIDS can be passed through blood, sex, or from birth. Symptoms include: cramps, coughing, extreme fatigue, lack of coordination, and painful swallowing. Symptoms may also include forgetfulness, weight loss, vision loss, coma, and/or death. There is no treatment for HIV/AIDS, there is only prevention. The only way to ensure not to get it is abstinence. Imagine finding out that you have AIDS knowing that you have just received your death sentence.
Another STD is herpes. Herpes isn’t as bad as some other diseases but it’s still a disease, and it is still harmful to your body. The symptoms usually include flu-like symptoms and fever with swollen glands. A lot of the time though people don’t ever have symptoms, therefore it’s harder to realize and find out that you have it. Herpes cannot be cured, they can only be prevented. Herpes is a vicious cycle of breakouts after breakouts. Abstinence is number one. Condoms cost approximately seventy-five cents. It is not that hard to stop the action for five minutes to go to the gas station and pick up a condom. Five minutes of held up action or a lifetime of pain and regret. Which would you rather?

  16. Why do individuals from other countries came to the United States? Why do Americans dislike immigrants and say they are taking over their country? What country other countries do immigrants like to go? What do immigrants have to do before coming a citizen of America? How long does it takes? What is the percent of immigrants in United States?

The reason a lot of immigrants came to America is one, so their family can have a better life. Two there is a lot more freedom in America then other countries. Three, there is better jobs. The reason why Americans dislike immigrants is because there are so many people that is in America that is not from here and Americans think that they should stay in their own country. Individuals from other country came to America and make their own business and Americans get mad that a lot of stores are owned by immigrants.
Immigrants have to get a green card first. You can get a green card by marrying a citizen from the USA but they can only allow so many indivuals by getting a green card by marriage. Getting a green card may vary from person to person depending on the personal circumstances how long it takes. When the green card is sponsored by the employer, the process involves three steps: labor certification application, immigrant petition, and adjustment of status. Labor certification application takes at least six months. Immigration petition will take approximately 3 months and the last step i.e. the adjustment of status will take about a year.
What immigrants mostly came to America? America has a lot of Mexican individuals that immigrant to America. The reason why is because Mexico borders America. 70% of the immigrants in America are Mexicans.

    Fort Hood Army Base
    Located at Killeen Texas
I did my project on Fort Hood Army Base located at Killeen Texas. I chose this for the topic of my project because I was born on Fort Hood. I also chose to do this as a project because I plan on going in the service and I wanted to do as much research on Fort Hood as I can.
Fort Hood was named after a General confederate named John Bell Hood! It was located halfway between Waco and Austin about 60 miles apart. Fort Hood was built in 1942.
Fort Hood is the only Army post in the United States that is able to support two armored divisions. Today, Fort Hood is a 340 square mile installation. Fort Hood’s nickname is “The Great Place”.
There was a recent tragety that occurred on November 5th at Fort Hood. A soldier named Nidal Milak Hassan killed 12 people and injured 32 others. Authorities are saying Nidal did this because he was scheduled to leave for afghanistan and Nidal did not want to go.
At the end of 1942 there were fortyfive thousand soldiers living and training at forthood. The most famous trainee to go through training was Elvis Pressley in 1958.
Fort Hood has a sports field used for football, baseball, or basketball. There are also hunting and fishing at Fort Hood and different funacts to do such as paintballing and fields to play in.
There are elementary, middle, and high schools for children to go to on the army base if the soldiers have children on base. To start kindergarden your children must be 5 years old by sept. 1st !
In conlusion I wrote my project on Fort Hood because that was where I was born. When I graduate high school I plan on going to the army and signing in for a combat engineer.

They change certen part of the car like the petals and stuff like that.

There was a New Orleans disabled person to seek revenge at something. Despite all of the calls she sent to the police, but help never came to get her. If you ask me I think that’s pretty sad. What I think people should help the disabled people when they need help.

All the people that are in wheel chairs, that are blind, that are mute, and even people that are paralyzed from the waist up. All they want is to be treated the same as the rest of us. Where treated like crap and nobody cares about any of us at all.

    The Vietnam War

The Vietnam War first started on September 26, 1959 to April 30, 1975. The war followed the First Indochina War and was fought between the communist in North Vietnam. The Vietnam War was fought at Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam. The war was fought long and hard. Thousands of people died from serving in The Vietnam war. Families lost their loved one and wives were left as widows. Families will never get the chance to say good-bye to their loved ones. This time in history was very sad and devastating.

The United States entered the war to prevent a communist takeover of South Vietnam as part of their wider strategy of containment. Military advisors began to arrive in 1950. U.S. involvement escalated in the early 1960s, with U.S. troop levels tripling in 1961 and tripling again in 1962.U.S. combat units were deployed beginning in 1965. Operations spanned borders, with Laos and Cambodia heavily bombed. Involvement peaked in 1968 at the time of the Tet Offensive. After this, U.S. ground forces were withdrawn as part of a policy called Vietnamization. Despite the Paris Peace Accords, signed by all parties in January 1973, fighting continued.

There are multiple places that had something to do with The Vietnam war. Some of these places are Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Soviet Union, and North Korea. Australia and New Zealand both close allies of the United States and members of the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO), sent ground troops to Vietnam. The Philippines were primarily engaged in medical and other civilian pacification projects. These forces operated under the designation PHLCAG-V or Philippine Civic Action Group-Vietnam. The Soviet Union supplied North Vietnam with medical supplies, arms, tanks, planes, helicopters, artillery, anti-aircraft missiles and other military equipment. Soviet crews fired USSR-made surface-to air missiles at the B-52 bombers which were the first raiders shot down over Hanoi. Fewer than a dozen Soviet citizens lost their lives in this conflict. As a result of a decision of the Korean Workers' Party in October 1966, in early 1967 North Korea sent a fighter squadron to North Vietnam to back up the North Vietnamese 921st and 923rd fighter squadrons defending Hanoi. All of these places either helped the Vietnam or served in the war.

  20. “Muggin others work or media”
My topic for this essay I’m writing about is the copyright laws. In this essay I will mention certain topics and court cases of people who copyrighted others work. These topics will hopefully inform you on some of the consequences of copyrighting and what it can do to the community or your company. Also, I hope to possibly stop some people from copyrighting without permission from a certain being.
First of all, the copyright law is a law that restricts you from copying media and other topics that is not your own work and trying to state that you did all of the things listed in whatever you copied and try to take credit for it without mentioning the real authors consent in that subject. Also, copyrighting is illegal and is punishable by law and you can serve on average 1-10 and maybe more based on the severity of whatever it is you copyrighted. If you copyright other persons, i.e. Singer of any genre, media than that particular person can sue and or take you to court for sampling their work without their written or spoken consent.
In conclusion, I chose this topic because, Dwayne Michael carter Jr. was accused of illegally sampling Karma-Ann Swanepoels song “Once” and used it in his track “I Feel Like Dying.” I also, chose this topic because, I hope that one day people will realize how this matter affects you and your community and how you can avoid this particular matter and come out on top.
(Below is the court case between Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. & Karma-Ann Swanepoel this case includes both sides of the situation and my own opinion on this matter.)
Introduction-Lil Wayne’s getting sued for copyright infringement for allegedly sampling Karma-Ann Swanepoels song “Once” for his song “I Feel Like Dying.”

Though Weezy's track, which becomes the subject of the lawsuit, is not listed in "Tha Carter III", lawyers for Karma-Ann insisted that the album has connection with the song. They argued Weezy had used the song to promote the album by performing it during his concerts.

The lawsuit says Lil Wayne’s record label, Cash Money Records, failed to negotiate a license to use Swanepoel’s song before millions of people downloaded “I Feel Like Dying.”
Plaintiff-Wants Lil Wayne to hand over financial records for his latest album “Tha Carter III.” And has been granted an extended amount of time, postponed trial, for more evidence on the subject. Wayne should just give Karma-Ann half the money his song earned during the accusations of her song.
Defense-Lil Wayne has been granted extra time to prepare for his hearing and possibly can win this case because Karma-Ann has yet to provide hard evidence against Wayne/Cash Money Records and if Wayne wins the case he will gain even more publicity and money.
My opinion-I think that this trial against Lil Wayne and Karma-Ann Swanepoel is nothing but a big misunderstanding because they have yet to provide any evidence that his song contains any verse from her song “Once.” Also Lil Wayne is also falsely accused for copyright infringement against jadakiss.
Conclusion-My conclusion to this trial is that Wayne And Karma-Ann should just evenly split their tracks and negotiate a price to settle their quarrel on. Cash Money Records can also sign Karma-Ann on to their record company.
